Chobe safari lodge is situated on the banks of River Nile the lodge was originally constructed in the 1950s following decades of being abandoned. The new trophy safari lodge now exudes elegance and energy once again after being renovated and reopened in 2012.

The rooms
On entering these beautiful rooms you will feel like you will never ever leave. The rooms have luxurious bathrooms and shower, air conditioning, cozy comfortable king-size beds and a private balcony with magnificent views of the Nile.
Chobe safari lodge tent accommodation
We drive away from the rooms to go check out the tents that are situated right on the banks of the River Nile. amidst the wild animals like warthogs, hippos and elephants. These tents will make you wonder whether they are really tents, because they look like a house. “haha”.
If you want a little more exclusivity and privacy the tents are just right for you. The interiors are more spacious and the furnishings are more suited to the safari experience.
From the balconies one can experience unparalleled views of the wild animals and the sunset on the nile.

Chobe Presidential cottage
Our next stop is the presidential cottage situated on a private section of the property. There is a twin bedroom, a double bedroom and a large living room. One can relax on the balcony and terraces overlooking your own private Lagoon where buffaloes, hippos and elephants swim. Now that's presidential!
Walking through the cottage we come across a local board game referred to as “Omweso”.

Activities at chobe safari lodge
There are quite a number of activities that people can do when they are staying at Chobe safari lodge. the Nile is the main focus of these activities and these include:
- Fishing
- Then the game drives. You can drive into the park. There are a lot of animals and with the time that the park was not operational, the number of animals increased, so we find that now there's more sightings than there used to be previously.
- A boat ride. You can go on a boat ride on the Nile to the bottom of the falls. You can also ride to the top of the falls.
- Nature walks. On your walk you can expect to see the Uganda kob, antelopes, giraffes, buffaloes, sometimes elephants. Murchison Falls National Park supports a remarkable 451 species of birds. Highlights include the rare yet famous Shoebill stork, Martial Eagle, the African Fish Eagle, Papyrus Gonolek, Lesser and Greater Flamingo, White-tailed Lark and Verraux’s Eagle Owl.
- Bush breakfast. Proceeding ahead of the guests, the banqueting team is able to set up the tables with the necessary cutlery & crockery, chairs, umbrella canopy and the “bush kitchenette”, as well as a campfire, in time, at the bush breakfast site before the guests arrive. Upon arrival, the guests are welcomed with a glass of chilled, freshly squeezed passion juice. They are then led to the tables to enjoy their classic ‘out of the Africa’ bush breakfast. The chef will prepare any choice of eggs, as well as a choice of sausages, bacon, tomatoes, assorted juices, cereals, fruit platters, bread, assorted pastries, butter, marmalade, jam, honey, milk, coffee & tea.

Getting to chobe
Chobe Safari Lodge is located in Murchison Falls National Park, North-Western Uganda, overlooking the Victoria Nile.
From Kampala it is 20 - 70 kilometers which is about roughly 3 and 1/2 hours depending on the traffic on the conditions of the road.
You can also fly in from Entebbe or Kajansi which is about one hour. The airstrip is right on the premises, less than 100 meters from the reception.

The swimming pool at Chobe Safari Lodge is the most unique of its kind. It features three separate tiers of the pool, giving you the choice of more privacy when you swim. Each tier boasts the same magnificent panoramic view of the River Nile on its journey from Karuma Falls to Murchison Falls. Sipping on a cocktail while watching the sunset over the Nile I honestly can't think of a better way to end my day.
