Chimp Trekking In Kibaale Forest Park: My Unforgettable Experience.

So the big day is finally here and we  are going trekking. We just got done with  a briefing, but one thing I love about the Primate lodge is that it is just five minutes  walk away from the briefing center. This is where  you get a guide, check in or register and  then get started with a hike.  We started with the tracking and we were split into groups of three with a  guide. I questioned myself how we were going to find the chimps and our guide answered that we had to begin  with the fruiting trees because this is where they feed. Also some corals, checking the ground for poo, knuckle prints and fresh nests. So we are considering  a lot as we are looking for them now. We were hoping to take this on for  at most three hours.

In Uganda, Kibaale forest national park is  the most popular chimp trekking  destination. The forest looks good  and fresh. As the sun was rising we could see the rays of the sun shining down on us, as we walked through this  beautiful jungle.

As we continued to look for the chimps,  our guide told me that the biggest  threat these chimps have is crown  eagles and pythons. The crown  eagles usually grab the little chimps and fly away with them, and eat them. Then the  snakes will come for the babies and the  adults. These are the top threats that chimps have in this chivalry forest.

Chimpanzee trekking is one of  Uganda's most popular wildlife activities  and a remarkable experience on the  African continent. It's been on my bucket  list for the longest time and I was  excited to do it.

Finally we get to the long anticipated moment because I  really wanted to find the chimps on the ground, and we  did. The chimps hastily  climbed up as we approached them. It  was a family of four, and one of  them had a baby that was playing around with the mom.

Looking at these chimps  their behavior is very much similar to  that of humans, and biologically  chimpanzees are more closely related to  humans than they are to gorillas.

Getting the perfect picture shots of these chimps is not easy. I tried to get myself  a picture of a baby and the mother but the baby  kept playing around and moving here and  there. This beautiful view was mesmerizing.

The females are very shy so we can't get  close to them.  once it sees you getting close, it will  run away.

There was this Chimp who stopped and looked at us,  because we had been following him for  about  eight minutes. He then made a loud cry, calling  out its friends, while running off. This was an amazing reaction. I  just had the ultimate experience I was  dreaming of with the Chimps.  It was a thrilling moment that  you couldn't miss right here in Kibaale  National park.

We are back to the starting point after about four hours of  non-stop action, tracking and hiking.  Trying to find the Chimps is quite an  amazing experience. After all this I was very very  exhausted. I was pretty excited after receiving my certificate because you are awarded a  certificate after tracking the Chimps. I  loved the great experience. Chimpanzee trekking has now been ticked off on my bucket list.
