Once upon a time, in the heart of Western Uganda, there lies a hidden gem, a sanctuary of nature’s beauty, the Nyabyeya Central Forest Reserve. Location and Geography

The Nyabyeya Central Forest Reserve is part of the extensive network of Central Forest Reserves managed by the National Forestry Authority (NFA) in Uganda. It is located about 500 meters away from the larger Budongo Central Forest Reserve. The forest reserve is situated between latitudes 1°40’1" and 1°42’1" and longitudes 31°32’1" and 31°33’1" and is surrounded by a network of roads that serve as fire breaks and compartment boundaries.

The forest within the Nyabyeya Central Forest Reserve consists of diverse vegetation types, including moist semi-deciduous forests and forest plantations predominantly composed of pine and eucalyptus species.
