Dishes prepared in a clean and professional environment, yet at a higher cost than a neighborhood eatery. This is a popular spot with a good buffet.

2K Restaurant is a high-end eatery that offers a one-of-a-kind exquisite dining experience. When it comes to local cuisine and Pilau, they are unrivaled.

Amagara Cafe Bistro

There is a full international cuisine, but they are well renowned for their fantastic Ugandan buffet. In a busy location, it's a lovely setting. It's great for grilling meat.

Bamboo Nest Bar and Restaurant

A lovely wooden structure with a large grass roof. The usual stuff on the menu, along with some Ugandan specialties. Weekends are spent dancing. Located in Bugolobi, Uganda, at Plot 61 Bandali Rise, Bugolobi.

Deep Blue Corner Pork Joint  

This spot in Wandegeya is popular and gets crowded early. It has four kitchens and serves some of the greatest pork in Kampala.

Fido Dido 

A no-frills, old-school Kampala staple offering affordable cuisine and a large selection of drinks and ice cream. It's well-known and always bustling.

Fido Dido remains a restaurant where one can mix with the locals over Ugandan specialties or an ice cream, although some Kampalans criticizing a certain negligence about the quality of the food and an atmosphere that would not be the same as in the past (the ice cream is intimately linked to the establishment and has forged its reputation on Kampala Road). Furthermore, the prices are reasonable.

Fig Tree Bar & Restaurant 

Popular beer garden famed for its excellent grilled meats. Their grassy area makes it a pleasant place to visit at any time of day or night. Located in Kansanga, Kampala, Uganda, near Soweto Road.

Generous pork

The new location across the street from the old one provides the same delicious pork sticks and sides. Weekends are really busy. Bukoto is the location.

Ggaba Market 

This lake-side market with food stalls is your best bet for the freshest grilled fish in Kampala at Ggaba landing site. Cheap, tasty, and a fun area. 

Hakuna Matata bar & restaurant 

In the presence of a little army of concrete animals, eat roasted pig. They also offer a wide range of Ugandan side dishes.

Indigo restaurant 

The cuisine and service are adequate, but the major attraction is the fantastic view of the mayhem of the old taxi park below. Take a seat on the balcony if you can..

Kati Kati restaurant 

A welcoming open-air venue with a bar, restaurant, conference facilities, and a large sports screen. Asian and Indian cuisines are also available. Located on the Lugogo Bypass, across from the Shell gas station.

Kyadondo Pork 

The only thing on the menu is pork, and it's fantastic. You can watch a rugby match or practice if you time it correctly.

Nicodemus pork Joint 

Students rave about how fresh and expertly prepared the pork is at this traditional local pig establishment. At night, it's a lively place. Nankulabye is the location.

The Roots restaurant 

One of the few places in Nakasero where you can have a Ugandan dinner. It's a laid-back spot that's great for lunch before the menu items run out. It's great in stews. Plot 4 Kafu Road, Kampala, Uganda.

Shaka Zulu foods 

Popular, no-frills spot for katogo (starting at 6:45 a.m.) and luwombo. Anything with groundnut sauce is a winner. Plot 5 Campeling Road, Kiswa, Bugolobi is where you'll find it.

St. Anthony's Restaurant 

They don't have a menu, so all they serve is luwombo and sides - and they do it well! The location is convenient for office employees in the neighborhood.

When viewed from Lumumba Avenue, this modest eatery, located a short distance from the French Embassy, appears uninteresting. This business, however, is well-known among expats and local office workers for its robust local meals (katogo, matooke, posho, kalo...), and especially for its luwombo (meat or fish stewed in banana leaves).
